RetroSense is employing a gene therapy approach to deliver a new photosensitivity gene to retinal cells to restore the ability of eyes to sense light. As RP is caused by over 100 different gene defects, addressing each individually is not feasible with current technologies. RetroSense’s approach is designed to “install” new photosensors, restoring vision irrespective of which gene defect is responsible for vision loss. 以前其他治疗方法都是针对某一种突变基因引发的RP，而这家公司官网的说法是采取新的技术，安装新的光敏？（不知道怎么翻译，请专业人士翻译下）因此该方法能适应大部分RP患者，这也太牛了吧。
